Traditional storytelling platforms are limited to flat screens and linear formats. They lack immersion, emotional presence, and meaningful shared experiences — especially in a world where people are increasingly remote.
Yappar set out to solve three core problems:

• How to make stories feel inhabitable, not just viewable
• How to enable shared experiences across different physical locations
• How to design interactions that feel natural within VR and spatial environments

Building an immersive app for Vision Pro and VR platforms introduced several unique challenges:

• Designing for spatial interaction
Interfaces needed to feel intuitive without relying on traditional UI patterns like buttons or menus.

• Performance across headsets
The experience had to remain smooth and comfortable, avoiding motion sickness while maintaining visual fidelity.

• Shared environments
Synchronising users in the same virtual space required careful consideration of presence, interaction, and narrative flow.

• Storytelling in 3D space
Stories had to be structured spatially rather than linearly, without overwhelming the user.
